A very big thank you to all the schools who entered the competition and performed in the Grand Final at The Hexagon on January 23 2010. You were all absolutely brilliant during rehearsals and in the performance. Very professional behaviour, your parents and families should be very proud of all you. It is not easy to play live music with an audience especially with 1000 people in the audience.

To the bands who didn’t win - i hope you all received your well deserved medals for reaching the final. I kept on hearing Retrograde fans from backstage so maybe they can win the trophy next year!!

This will now be an annual schools’ competition.. to register an interest in entering a band for 2011 year please email me info@readingrockacademy.com  and we will email you with an link to the 2011 entry form.

The celebrity judges were all amazing, and a special thank you must goto Nick Heyward for singing ‘Fantastic Day’ at the end .. for those of us Haircut 100 fans.. you’ve also inspired another generation too.  I would like to thank the ‘Rock Crew’ who all volunteered their time and worked so hard for the event. The Hexagon staff were fantastic too - especially Loz the stage manager [1 million rock points to him!!]. Marshall Amps for lending us the full stacks - awesome , and Drumwright for providing the Pearl Masters kit . Chris Dinsey on Lights - you guys all rock!

Despite the snow, school closures we still managed to get a packed audience to watch the kids rocking out - I think we managed to get just under 700 tickets sold so fingers crossed we managed to raise some profit for Prior’s Court School. I will let you know how much we raised. Thank you all so much, I feel very proud to have been part of history being made.
